Ideas For Throwing The Best Ever Kids Christmas Party

by Donna West

It's no secret that kids love Christmas; with no school and lots of presents, what's not to love? If you have been thinking about having aChristmas party for your child and you have lots of kids in the neighborhood, then there are some really great holiday party ideas that are fun for both the kids and parents alike.

Why not get together with all of your neighbors and have a neighborhood kids Christmas party? you can set up different party themes at different neighbors houses and have the kids go from house to house with something different to do at each house they go to. A greatChristmas party game idea at the first house would be to have the kids start in the backyard and build snowmen, forts or whatever they can imagine. You can incorporate different Christmas games into it, such as pin the carrot on the snowman or find Rudolph's nose, where you set up a cutout of a reindeer and hide his red nose somewhere for the kids to find. You can always handout prizes for the fastest, or slowest, etc.

After running around having all that fun in the cold they will probably appreciate going to the next Christmas party house where they can have their fill of hot chocolate and other goodies. At this house you may also want to include some type of craft making, perhaps they can make their own Christmas party decorations and ornaments. Have several different materials laid out so that they have plenty to choose from. You may also want to consider having a small tree here so that everyone can add their decorations to the tree.

A great Christmas party theme idea for kids and adults alike is a Christmas scavenger hunt. You can make it family against family, girls against boys or whatever you choose; however, it is always a good idea to make sure that there are older people along if some of the kids are very young; to lend a helping hand if it becomes necessary. So, give them a list of Christmas related items and let the hunt begin!

Once the big scavenger hunt is over and a few prizes have been handed out, it will be time to warm up again with hot chocolate and other goodies. If a a warm fire in the fireplace is an option, then this would be great for roasting marshmallows or making S'mores, while everyone gets some sheet music out and starts singing a few Christmas songs. Between songs everyone will want to talk about what a great time that they have had and more than likely are ready to start planning for next year's Christmas party. - 39969
